The Three Queens Fire is located on Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest, six miles east of Snoqualmie Pass, in Kittitas County.
Current situation: Complex Incident Management Team Northwest 13 assumed command at 7 a.m. this morning to suppress the Three Queens Fire in coordination with local, state, and federal agencies.
The fire is burning primarily in high elevation subalpine fir stringers above Lake Kachess. Wind driven fire behavior persists as strong winds push flames across fuels. Fire activity has increased in areas where fuels, wind, and topography have aligned, producing periods of faster fire spread. This mountainous region also exhibits extreme slopes, unstable terrain and rolling material. Crews are monitoring these conditions closely and adjusting tactics to maintain safe and effective operations.
