The Bear Hallow Fire started on August 3, 2026, in Jack County and was responded to by local fire departments. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance in the form of additional firefighters and heavy equipment at 1:58 pm and quickly responded. Texas A&M Forest Service is currently in unified command with local fire departments. Heavy equipment is making slow progress due to dense vegetation and rough terrain. Aviation resources were ordered and continue to assist in suppression efforts. The TFR in place has been lifted as of August 6, 2026..
