The Line Fire started on Thursday, May 14, in New Mexico and burned into Texas. Texas A&M Forest Service received a request for assistance in the early morning hours of Friday, May 15. Texas A&M Forest Service crews are working in unified command with New Mexico and local resources. This Inciweb site is for the portion of the fire burning in Texas only. 

As of 1:15 p.m. May 16, 2026, the Line Fire is 100% contained. All state resources are off of the fire. No additional updates on this fire will be issued.
